Telugu Movie Ragada Review

The Film

Ragada is a regular mass masala film that is presented with all commercial elements with the character of Nagarjuna dominating the proceedings.

The Synopsis

Satya (Nagarjuna), a rustic ruffian with loads of guts and lands in Hyderabad. He joins don GK (Dev Gill) after he helps him in a difficult situation. GK has a tough rival in Peddanna (Pradeep Rawat) whose underworld activities are taken care of by Gangayya (Kota), Nanda (Sushanth), Bhagawan (Supreet) and Jayaram (Shravan). GK, with the help of Satya, plans to eliminate the henchmen of Peddanna. However, GK and Satya keep Peddanna in good humour so that he does not know who is eliminating his gang leaders.

In this process, Sirisha (Anushka) belonging to GK’s gang falls in love with Satya and tries to become close to him through Basava Raju (Brahmanandam). In between, Ashta Lakshmi (Priyamani), who is being harassed by Peddanna’s rowdies, seeks Satya’s help.

Then we know that Satya has a purpose in coming to the city. Who is Satya? Why did he come to the city? Why is Ashta Lakshmi chased by goons? What actually brews between GK and Peddanna? Will Satya accomplish what he intended to do in the city? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

The Verdict

Ragada is a must for every Nagarjuna fan. If you ignore the inconsistencies of the plot and the routine nature of the storyline, this mass masala film is entertaining within the limitations of the commercial format.

Ragada has the elements to be a hit but does not have the essence to take the box office by storm.
